Movin'On Challenge Design announces the theme of its 2023 edition

The challenge: Designing an innovative mobility solution which balances the three recognized pillars of sustainability: PEOPLE, PROFIT and PLANET 

The Movin'On Challenge Design, one of the world's leading design competitions dedicated to mobility, has announced its new theme for 2023. Now entering its 23rd year, the Movin'On Challenge Design, formerly known as the Michelin Design Challenge, is a significant annual event for Movin'On, the world's leading ecosystem for strategic anticipation and co-innovation for sustainable mobility.

Sustainability is a key factor in the mobility transformation. Designers and creatives are vital in identifying and providing solutions that benefit the players involved in these three sustainability pillars.

The challenge of the Movin'On Challenge Design

The challenge for this new edition of the Movin'On Challenge Design 2023’s mission is to design an innovative mobility solution that balances these three recognized sustainability pillars - People, Profit and Planet..

Applications must present a genuine model of safe and efficient mobility that meets users' expectations and is part of a viable economic model for moving people and respecting the environment.

Movin'On Challenge Design 2023 - People, Profit, Planet

Artists, designers, engineers, architects, planners, and creatives from around the world are invited to participate, either as a team or individually. The competition is now open on michelinchallengedesign.com and will close on the 28th of February 2023. Entries will be judged by a prestigious international jury, including design executives from leading mobility companies.

The first three winners will be announced at the next Movin'On Summit in Brussels on the 31st of May and the 1st of June 2023.

Since its creation in 2000, the Movin'On Challenge Design has received over 14,000 entries from 134 countries. The winners and awardees include students from universities and graduate programmes, professional designers, engineers, architects, visionaries, and multidisciplinary teams.

Created in 2001, the Michelin Challenge Design became the Movin'On Challenge Design in 2020.
