On the occasion of Movin’On Impulse Day, the European Forum for Sustainable Mobility, the Solar Impulse Foundation, the Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale, and Movin’On brought together their members, partners, and public authorities to accelerate public-private synergies for sustainable mobility and competitiveness.

June 2, 2025, marks a key milestone for everyone working to advance the sustainable mobility ecosystem.

Gathered at the Hôtel de l’Industrie, 150 leaders and experts from the sector came together to share a common ambition: to build a desirable, sustainable mobility that serves a more competitive Europe.

This evening also marked the launch of an ambitious endowment fund, sealing an alliance between the Solar Impulse Foundation, the Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale, and Movin’On.

The forum was part of a collective action momentum, structured around four strategic levers: regulation, innovation, local integration, and transformation of mobility practices.

ACCELERATING PUBLIC-PRIVATE SYNERGIES TO COMBINE SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY AND COMPETITIVENESS

A VISION FOR THE FUTURE - United to accelerate sustainable mobility in Europe.

Bertrand Piccard, President of the Solar Impulse Foundation, and Florent Menegaux, President of the Michelin Group and Movin’On, delivered a remarkable keynote.

It was a call for collective action around four strategic levers: regulation, innovation, local engagement, and transformation of user behavior.

KEYNOTE – Île-de-France,
a hub for decarbonized industries

Alexandra Dublanche, Vice President for Recovery, Attractiveness, Economic Development, and Innovation for the Île-de-France Region, opened the discussion with an inspiring keynote. This standout moment showcased numerous concrete initiatives that today make Île-de-France the world’s 4th leading innovation ecosystem.

PANEL - Embracing new modes of transport

In rural areas, reliance on private cars deepens access inequalities. The Community of Interest led by Macif is piloting a shared automated shuttle in the Drôme region, offering an inclusive, concrete mobility solution.

Meanwhile, Capgemini, leader of the Pop Car Community of Interest, is working on the design of a compact electric vehicle priced at €12,000, low-emission and accessible to all regions.

These innovations are ready to scale. Success will depend on local, partnership-based approaches and mobilizing communication.

PANEL - Developing ambitious circular economy sectors

Solvay is developing innovative waste recovery solutions, including rare earth recycling. However, Philippe Kehren, CEO of Solvay, laments regulatory barriers slowing progress.

Karima Delli, an expert in European policy, points to the slow implementation of the European Commission’s ambitions and calls for a strategy based on prevention, not just recycling.

The circular economy represents an ecological, economic, and social opportunity that must be made tangible and accessible.

PANEL - Accelerating the decarbonization of freight transport

Frank Lacroix, Executive Vice President of Engie, reports promising progress on the first electric corridor for heavy trucks between Paris and Lyon. The goal now is to scale up usage and deploy similar corridors across France, Germany, and Spain.

Public support is critical to help fund the purchase of electric vehicles and invest in charging infrastructure.

PANEL - Strengthening mobility resilience to future social and environmental chellenges

The final theme in our panel highlights the urgent need to shift from a reactive to a proactive and adaptive approach. Climate change is reshaping our environment faster than expected, and existing infrastructures are no longer fit for the emerging conditions they must withstand.

Koen Deryckere, CEO of Accenture France & Benelux, and Batoul Hassoun, a foresight expert, illustrate this new challenge through several concrete examples and identify key levers for action.

This Movin’On Retrospective is more than a forward-looking exercise: it represents a concrete first step toward the future we want to build. It shows that carbon neutrality by 2050 is not a distant dream, but a reachable goa, thanks to the collective and courageous decisions we are making today.

Together with the 27 members of Movin’On, we have defined five strategic pillars to guide our actions: Ensuring inclusive mobility, Promoting the circular economy, Facilitating the intermodality of goods and the multimodality of people, Inventing new financing solutions for the energy transition.

So what might 2035 look like?
