Should we reopen the small railway lines that used to serve rural areas, but which have been abandoned for lack of profitability? Yes, but not only that, according to the Flexy transport system.

What makes it special is that it is a hybrid, meaning that it can be equally at home on the road or on the rails. This revolutionary vehicle is the fruit of collaboration within a consortium comprising the SNCF, Milla group, Michelin and the Railenium technological research institute.

Find out how, with Movin'On and the Flexy consortium, you can catch the train at the bus stop tomorrow...

Objectives

Develop a prototype for a new service rejuvenating closed rural railway lines.

Deliverables

  • A test shuttle with a dual mode (rail/road) wheel.
  • A new regulatory framework.
  • A financing body.
  • A real-life experiment with user testing.
