Cycling cities, cities of the future. But where do we stand in real terms? Not surprisingly, the Netherlands and Denmark are among the top countries here. France, for example, is still lagging way behind, with bikes accounting for only 3% of journeys. This compares with 30% for the European top nation.

So what still needs to be done or changed to improve the modal share of cycling? How can we sustain visible growth in the heart of cities?
