INCLUSIVE
MOBILITY
PROFITABLE
TO ALL
Work is being carried out across Europe to improve the connectivity, accessibility and inclusiveness of transport systems. The aim is to promote mobility as a universal right, as it plays a fundamental role in people's lives.
It is key to accessing other basic rights such as housing, work, education and health.
An inclusive transport system facilitates travel and guarantees unrestricted access to jobs and services for all potential passengers and all persons, whatever their situation. This includes people of different ages, genders, economic or social status.
Challenges and opportunities
The European Commission's Sustainable and Intelligent Mobility strategy, as outlined in the Green Pact for Europe, lays the foundations for how the EU's transport system can achieve its green and digital transformation, while making mobility fair and equitable for all. This means promoting people-centric mobility and making transport infrastructure and services affordable and accessible in all regions, for all passengers. A vast undertaking to which Movin'On and its members wish to contribute
IN PRACTICE
In particular, Movin'On is committed to initially exploring the needs of rural and peri-urban mobility, and to promoting technological advances and digital transformation, such as intelligent transport systems, real-time data analytics, the data-sharing environment and mobile applications.
All of which can improve the efficiency, reliability and resilience of mobility and transport services and, consequently, the experience of users of said services.
