Sovereignty - Up-Skilling Europe

Building tomorrow’s Europe’s “Mobility Industry”, and guaranteeing its sovereignty is mandatory to win the race for critical competencies and succeed the energetic transition.

The overlapping of structural challenges - due to rapid technology transition required by recent norms and regulations in Europe – and the succession of worldwide crises are currently putting the European labor market under pressure: lay-offs in some industries (ex: automotive) coexist with a lack of skilled employees in others (ex: maintenance, rail, production, but also Battery, Fuelcell, electronics, data, software, AI experts).

Challenges and Opportunities

Success in operating that shift will heavily depend on Europe’s capacity to build a common vision of the future qualification challenges: availability of the “right” qualifications at the “right” time at the “right” place and in sufficient number. Engaging the employees by translating these challenges into opportunities where new jobs will be created, thanks to new technologies or new business models (ex: circularity) should help to accelerate the change. Helping companies to retrain their employees internally in the professions of the future while allowing them to continue producing daily and building bridges in qualifications among sectors will up-skill Europe’s workforce.

In practice

Most corporates have already reacted by leading their own transformation initiatives, building training centers, and promoting their individual activity, at company level. But for the sake of speed, efficiency and focus, it will require a collective effort beyond the usual boundaries, between private sectors, public and European authorities and education to build that “Europe of Competencies”.

Bring your expertise

We want to bring together the companies’ experts in HR and training, innovation, sustainability to develop creative and disruptive ideas that meet the level of challenge we are facing. Based on a pragmatic case sharing in Europe across the various sectors (ex: energy, land transport, automotive supply, maritime, aeronautics, railway), we strive for creative and efficient solutions in common training courses and certifications, academies and concrete pilots on European level.

Take part and connect with our cross-sectoral experts

In 2024, Movin'On is renewing its commitment to the ambitious vision set out by the European Green Deal. To achieve the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, legislative measures include initiatives covering climate, the environment, energy, transportation, industry and sustainable finance - all of which are closely linked. The European Commission has furthermore stressed "the need for a comprehensive, cross-sectoral approach, encompassing all relevant sectors to achieve the ultimate climate objective". Movin'On, as a business-led, multi-modal and cross-sectoral ecosystem, is perfectly in line with this approach.

We are therefore proud to announce our collective commitment throughout the year to achieving one goal: to help make the decarbonization of land transportation in Europe a success, in line with the objectives of the "Fit for 55" package by the year 2030 and in tune with the signing of the call for "Fossil-Free Transportation" initiated by our long-standing institutional partner SLOCAT.

Pease discover the themes we have together defined to meet this challenge, and for you, too, to collectively be a real part of it: Energy - Intermodality - Circular economy - Financing the transition - Inclusive mobility - Supporting the transition. - Sovereignty

These 7 themes are the starting point for our 2024 Communities of Interest, working groups that bring together various ecosystem stakeholders. They study the burning question of sustainable mobility, develop a common vision and jointly experiment with new solutions.
