WBCSD and Movin’On join forces to make mobility more sustainable
Geneva, 15 September – Today, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and Movin'On announced a new partnership to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility globally in line with a 1.5°C scenario. The two organizations strive toward a bigger impact to achieve mobility decarbonization by engaging their respective networks and strengths in coordinated action.
"Solving the world's pressing sustainability challenges requires collaboration across supply chains and industries to carve a path toward the cities of tomorrow. That's why we are thrilled to announce that we are joining forces with Movin'On to find synergies for faster and more efficient action, " said Thomas Deloison, Director, Mobility, WBCSD.
We are delighted to welcome the WBCSD to the Movin'On's Corporate Advisory Board to enrich our co-innovation actions and bring complementary views on the major challenges of mobility. WBSCD will experiment with new pilot projects in the transport field, which can then be developed and deployed by Movin'On's partners

"This new partnership will also strengthen Movin'On's presence and visibility within the Conference of the Parties (COP), the International Transport Forum (IRF), the International Energy Agency (IEA) and ITS, as a pillar of collaboration between the private and public sectors" adds Erik Grab.
Created and inspired by the French tire manufacturer and WBCSD member company Michelin, Movin'On brings together an ecosystem of 300 stakeholders from business, civil society, academics and the public sector to develop solutions that make mobility cleaner, safer, more inclusive and efficient. Movin'On brings the relevant expertise to promising initiatives and employs different ways of working. Movin'On provides its ecosystem with resources, processes, technology monitoring, operational support and best practice sharing worldwide.
The new partnership between WBCSD and Movin'On will focus on four action areas:
- Road transport decarbonization through zero-emission technologies deployment
- Industry decarbonization and material efficiency through circularity
- Digitalization of mobility and data sharing for transport efficiency
- Commuting behavior change in urban mobility
