It’s one thing to listen to an inspiring talk, but nothing beats putting concepts to the test yourself. That’s why working sessions are such an important part of the Movin’On Summit experience. In the form of a 90-minute Think Tank led by renowned experts, working sessions engage participants in a collaborative activity based on their specific field of work and determine actionable outcomes.

This year, there are 45 working sessions at the Movin’On Summit. Also, several different working session formats are offered: LEARNING, THINKING, DOING, and THINKING SERIES. To learn more about these formats, just read on.

The Formats

The working session formats are all part of a process that begins with the exploration of different mobility related topics and ends with impacts within the ecosystem.

Learning

If you’re interested in sustainable mobility but you’re not yet an expert, this format is for you. On a topic pertaining to sustainable mobility, experts share their knowledge of a topic, a solution or a tool. At the end of the working session, participants are equipped to take action on the new understandings.

Thinking

If you’re well-versed in sustainable mobility and its key issues, this format is for you. Through a specially designed collaborative exercise, participants are invited to improve a tool, a product or a service using ideation and testing. Conceived to have an organizational or even systemic impact, these working sessions ask for participant feedback and insights to improve the product or service they’ve worked on.

Doing

Participants are invited to contribute to a key step in the development of a solution, project or discussion on a mobility issue. The objective of these working sessions is to identify solutions to a specific challenge and implement them. By far the most action-oriented type of working session, it is aimed at mobility stakeholders and could go so far as to involve the implementation of a responsibility allocation plan (RACI).

Thinking series

Think you have good ideas to solve a sustainable mobility problem but could still use a refresher of the key concepts? Want to dive deep into two working sessions on June 4 and 5? Then this series is for you as it goes from learning about a challenge to implementing a solution through collaborative ideation. In other words, it is a working session in the Learning format followed by a Thinking session in order to get to the heart of the matter and maximize impact.
